Volunteers

We offer flexible and rewarding volunteer roles built around you.

Together we build stronger communities where we can all thrive.

Starting a new life anywhere can be stressful, at TLC we recognise the additional challenges faced by those who are forcibly displaced. Our volunteers offer online employment support to clients to help them feel welcome and connected to their new home country - building their confidence and helping them to understand the UK employment systems.

How You Can Help

Volunteers offer side-by-side support focusing on empowerment. As a result, clients are then able to search, apply and successfully interview for jobs, training or educational opportunities independently. If you have successfully applied for an educational, vocational or employment opportunity - you have valuable experience to pass on to others navigating this for the first time.

In fact, volunteering in general helps us feel happy!

According to Action For Happiness:

“Scientific studies show that helping others can contribute to our happiness in different ways. These include: experiencing more positive emotions and satisfaction with life; increasing our sense of meaning, and boosting our self-confidence. It can reduce stress and help us feel calmer too.”
